children must by far be the most interesting things on earth. they laugh, they cry, they eat sleep drool crawl fight run sing sulk. they are as human and they can get and the best thing about them is that innocence and genuinity towards everything.
since their holidays started, i've been spending more time with my little cousins. it must have been a long time since we were that young, they just remind me so much of the times that i had with my own brothers. good or bad, those memories are really treasured ones now. i find myself reminising so much more about those times, i really think it's this getting old thing. haha...
"It's so unfair!!!" =(
how many times have we shouted this to our moms haha... My cousins have this notion of equality regardless of age. I call it their 'no-sharing' policy. So knowing them, my uncle bought three packets of sweets for three of them and still there was trouble. guess what? they were of different flavors. so expectedly a fight broke up which included stamping feet running around the carpark slapping and scratching and shouting of course. "It's so unfair! He always gets what he wants!" The eldest always loses in such situations. "you are the gorgor, couldnt you have just gave in to your little brother?!" said my Aunt, who then proceded to confiscate ALL the sweets.
Muahahahaaa
The silent tear.
The sort where you think it was the worst kind of grievance everytime it happens. So it was dinnertime and having worked our ass off to paint the house, and we had the really yummy sweet and cold ice kachang type stuff. Problem was this boy who has a history of bad lung infections caused by cold stuff already had one entire serving to himself at lunch and so my aunt told him nicely to restrain. At once he started sulking over his dinner. And it was by some sort of fate that the stall auntie had to place the ice kachang right in front of his nose. He sank his head into his arms, looked away from everyone at the table. It didnt take a minute before his eyes reddened and this huge glistening tear fell over. He got the dessert. Silent tears tears hearts apart. Learn to use this, it's a winner!
Who gets to sit in the front seat of the car.
They used to go by a rotation system until this huge fight came along. "Why does he get to sit from sembawang to bedok and me only from sembawang to the petrol kiosk?! *pout*" Now mom gets the front seat all the time. We used to bicker alot over this issue too, but now we'd rather fight for the spacious backseat lol
So they fight all the time and i think it was us fighting all the time that brought us even closer. these little monsters and the things they quarrel over cracks me up everytime. the sweat and the tears over so many things they've fought over, yet in good times i see how well they manage themselves. I love these little monsters, i really do. :)
