WARNING!
VERY LONG POST AHEAD!
LEAVE A TAG!
well.. almost forgot this place existed. it's really sad if it has to come to a point where people interact with others over this virtual space, devoid of a more personal way of communication. but hell, everyone's so busy these days updating a blog updates more people at a time. more economical and time saving, less feelings involved. msn, or the old school icq/irc (wonder if anyone uses em anymore anyway lol) sometimes i really hate it. ah well.... we're the internet generation. love it or not that's just the way things are gg to be. maybe sometime soon we dont even need to step out of the house or even our beds anymore to do anything. sorry i digressed. anyhow if anyone's interested, here's what happened, the more significant events, while i went missing from this space of mine.. that's about.... eh... VERY long ago....
Of Bands AND Band.
For the first (and prolly last) time in my life... i went for a live event organized by a local tv channel. all donning blue (we're color coded apparently for the groups we support), the choir peeps went early to queue up for "the big jam" at suntec fountain area. quite an experience i must say. the hosts pause literally after finish saying their lines so the cameras and record properly, sometimes it just looked kinda silly lol. imagine... "let's welcome so-so and so." *arms wide open. smiles plastered on face. pausepausepausepausepause. let go. walk off* too unnatural for me.
ever wondered how good those ppl look on tv? EVERYONE up there's powdered. standing just beside the judges stand, immediately after the comments, make-up artists literally RUSH up to em to powder up whatever might have dropped off as they were commenting. the seriousness in the way they did it? hilarious!
oh i havent mentioned that we were being interviewed while in the queue have i? just that i wasnt there during the interview, needed the ladies la. REALLY! =p anyhow i still came back for the final "james, we will always support you" frame. Never got my 5 seconds of fame on national tv thoe, dont think it was telecast was it?
To complete the night, cheryl brought the two of us to Timbre for Ublues. Great place, great music. Nothing more to ask for. =)
INSTEP application
struggled over the decision to accept or not to accept the offer. finally decided on it, and now in a big big mess over all there is to settle. HEADACHE LAaaaa. for all you out there who dont know what's gg on, INSTEP = INternational Students Exchange Programme. Signed up for it thinking i wont get it anyway, got it and so i'll be away in San Diego for the coming semester. Cant wait! it's a little bit of summer, autumn AND winter someplace else, somewhere interesting where just the AIR makes you fat and grow taller too! REALLY!
Deutschkurs and everything german.
took up german classes two sems ago. loved the language, the culture, the country, the tutor. continued with level two this sem. and wham. it's so much more difficult, i screwed up the paper. Nonetheless, classes was fun! especially with the tutor fooling ard with... let's call him Mr A. A for awfully agonising arse. (Mr A is prolly my arch enemy since the beginning of time, okokok... since the beginning of german classes. refer to earlier post if you dont know what i'm talking about, i rmb some post abt him but is not tech savvy enough to link it here so there.) and yeah.... german classes are prolly the only ones i enjoy myself the most. =) and oh yeah, oral was hilarious! was spose to tell a story with the pics provided and with my very limited vocab, i told the story of how the hero saved the damsel in distress by racing the train. Had us laughing for a good 10 mins since i started, the tutor was prolly trying so much to contain her laughter she didnt listen and passed me so i'm not complaining. LOL! I wanna go to germany! I lurrrrve GErmany. oh but i still think brazil will win the world cup. hahaaa
Exams.
A gruelling 4 week period. it's a record holding semester. Most difficult to date. Most I-couldnt-care-less attitude adopted so far. Most screwed up, hopefully ever. Most ice cream eaten throughout the entire period. it was soul food. yum. SuGaaar! at the expense of two clothes sizes thoe. -____- oh well. it was great encouragement. wouldnt have made it thru with it. and i believe in 'what goes up must come down'. truly. madly. deeply. ok back to.... Most..... aye screw it. it's over. let's leave it till the next one comes by. which by then i'll be in SD having lotsa fun. WOOOT
Singapore's tallest mountain.
correction: HILL. re-correction: Slope. back in primary sch i used to do re-re-re-corrections. i loved writing very long words. makes one look really knowledgeable doesnt it? ;) anyway, bt timah was a really good interjection during the gruelling 4 weeks, as others like sushi binge-ing and ice cream outings. Was having Jerangkang withdrawal symptoms and had to go back to nature. also intended to be a next-trekking-trip preparation. turned out to be More like walking on the roads without cars and along a very long winding slope. lol. Good workout, followed by more ice cream at island creamery where some guy tried to 'buy' my friend a mudpie and insensitive me screwed it up. Aye Friend, if you still read this, when are we gg back there again? I'm quite sure he was acting blur when i asked to pay! and send me the pics!
Birthday celebration at JAce's
impromptu and glad that birthday gal and most of us made it here! GE night, sharing sessions, booze and relaxation. SWEET. it's wonderful how we've made it so far. NINE years and counting!
Sing, sing a song....
oh we sang many many! K-lunching with Celine and Mag was a great deal of fun! most memorable footage of the day goes to chen han wei trying to be spidey HAHA Queen of K-box goes to Celine (woah... you really should hear her! power!) Duchess of Songs goes to Mag (for picking most memorable footage =p) Lao hu lao shu....
Blading Session 2 - Humps.
definitely much better than Session 1 - Stand and Move. More falling down, more bruises but i can go over humps now! not all... but still a marked improvement! No pain no gain, i realised the philosophy behind this tagline. You learn some things by HARD. i had a nice tan, aching and hopefully tone-er looking thighs, and a purplish palm for a week. Session 3, anyone?
Eski Bar.
Not just a COOL place! It's a Freezing cold bar with industrial a/c strength. and winter jackets for loan too. lol! Nice place with nicely wintery dressed waitresses in white jackets beanies and boots too. Be sure not to give the cold room a try. how cold i dont know but out of the gang only two of us lasted the longest. very very cold, so cold the lamp shade is made of ice and it doesnt melt, just a few occasional trickling droplet. yup ice LAMPSHADE. =)
And then it was WBF 2006 and back to lotsa choir again. And those stories shall be told another day next time IF anyone even reads this, so pls tag.
i'm bored. really really bored, so if you have nothing to tag, how about some suggestions on what else to do that might be fun. i'm at my wits end. bored to the edge of my bed. oh even better, let me know if you have any job lobangs! i could do with more $$$!
to you people all over the world enjoying yourselves now, do have fun! i want to see pics! to those in sunny singapore, why dont we meet up and have some fun? it's not long before i fly off to SD!
