Pulses rushing! Faces flushing!
Heartbeats speed up! I have never been so keyed up!
And second now They'll begin to run. Hark!
A bell is ringing, They are springing Forward Look!
It has begun...! What a frenzied moment that was!
Didn't they maintain an exhausting pace?

AhA! that quite adequately describes it! just that i wasnt at the ascot opening race, the crowd wasnt exactly duke and earl and peer... not even close actually... it wasnt all that prim and proper like in those times. Add in losta smoke and heat and sight of spitting men... and there... it was really quite an experience... Would have been much better if Trinidad was a split second faster and Akashi Champion maintained his first place throughout the race... that would have made me about a hundred good bucks richer... luck was just not with me.... haha
